The film was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Additionally, she was a child in the film of Francis Ford Coppola, Youth Without Youth. She was also in 2008 as Yasim anwar, a character from the BBC 5-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role of Yasim Anwar in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, along with Boogie, the Romanian comedy Boogie. The actress later played a significant performance in the 2014 film Fury which featured her as a German woman whose name was Irma the aunt of Emma.
