Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Also, she received classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. While in college, she concentrated on her studies and studied women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. She turned her attention to music only after she graduated. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The other viral hit songs included queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitchecity tour. The latter track connected directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. She opted to pursue a career as an actor following the completion of her previous two endeavors, author and musician. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakout role was in Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
